I have been working on a flower series in oil paint on canvas and it's really brought to my attention what I am good at and what I need to work on. I am good a up close large studies and less confident on smaller scale detailed painting. I am good at color mixing but need to pay attention to lights and darks - or I get muddy. All I know is that I need to just keep painting to build some muscle memory!

Waterlilies are one of my favorite plants on earth - their beauty, watery home and the green pads are just all magical to me. Here is an 18 x 24 oil painting of a water lily that I completed recently.

2025 was the high reunion year for me and also my school's 80th anniversary. I have to say the reunion was amazing and I got to see so many of my classmates. I also reunited with my fellow swim team and we took a group photo. The best part of the weekend was re-igniting friendships and seeing how well everybody was doing. Here's a few highlights! I applied for a small projects grant from the Latvian Foundation to create a book I have been working on in my mind about a Crow. The application was intense, but I got it done and I am happy to say I am one of 13 people to receive a grant to complete my project!
