Really, really, early concepts

Working on plans for the new 2018 City of Oak Park Guidebook and Business Directory. I just noodled around with a few ideas for color palettes and mood. One idea is to take the great Mid-Century Modern History from this city and use it to inspire the graphics. Oak park is home to so many great Mid-Century homes that I thought it would be a good concept.
The other ideas kindling in my brain are a modern clean magazine look with few serifs and crisp photos from the city and then a concept that is more of a hipster concept with use of many icons and very cool fonts and graphic ques. I have a lot of time to percolate on these which is great...Here's a few samples.
